For Father’s Day this year I decided to turn the tables a bit and make something for my kids.
So, here are 10 things my 10 year old has never seen (and likely never will).

Ah man, some of those memories were priceless. Thanks for sharing them. I noticed captain cave man and grape ape in the cartoon slide and seeing the card catalogue about made me fall out of my chair. Truly awesome man, enjoy Fathers day!
Thanks Chris!
I love Tang. As a kid I used to get a spoon of water and drop it into the Tang container. I would mix up the water and make a small Tang “ball” then eat it. Awesome times! I remember the days of my Grandma’s rotary phone and even here touch tone phone which used pulse dialing. Back then in the early 90’s phone numbers were six digits. To put it in context I lived in the Middle East the first 18 years of my life and technology was a little behind the rest of the world then.
I recall the touch phone that still used pulse dialing, too. It seems so ancient now.
Touch tone with pulse seems like an oxymoron. Kind of like having an automatic car with a clutch. In the 80’s my dad flew to Hong Kong to buy computer parts; it was cheaper than buying it at a store where we lives. Seems like the world is getting smaller everyday now.
Agreed, very small!
Yep, my children will never have the problem of rewinding the video tape before taking it back to blockbusters (*other video rental shops were available*) [of even seeing a video cassette let alone a betamax]
We had a separate rewinding machine in order to save on the wear and tear of the VCR.
Back in late 79s/early 80s, our family owned a book store (town’s only one) and a couple of National Video stores. Betamax – check, rewind machines – check, laser disks – check, repair technician – check (me!), original release of the Star Wars VHS tape – over $100!
$100 for Star Wars on VHS? I’ll assume that was your price and the idea was that you make it back on rentals, right?
Couldn’t keep them in stock long enough to rent them!
I once saw a 10 year old fascinated about a typewriter saying: “Wow! A computer that prints while you type!”
That. Is. Awesome.
Great Post! Thanx for
