PASS Summit Memories Blog Series – Day 18 – Football

At the 2008 PASS Summit in Seattle I decided to take advantage of the Seahawks playing at home that weekend. They were hosting the Arizona Cardinals and as luck would have it I had a very good friend Scott who happens to be a Cardinal season ticket holder. Scott agreed to fly up to Seattle to join me for the game. He even brought an extra jersey for me to wear.

Two guys in red amid a sea of blue...

Luckily underneath my jersey I wore my WSU sweatshirt. So when the crowd started throwing things at us I could just lift the jersey, show the WSU colors, and everyone would stop throwing stuff at us and start throwing it at each other as WSU and UW fans would start yelling at each other and forget about us. Good times…good times.

As great a memory of the game is for me, something else stands out. Scott joined us for the photowalk the next day and met many of my closest friends in the PASS Community. At the end of the day Scott told me how is was blown away by how much we knew about each other despite only having met in person a handful of times. To Scott it seemed as if we had all been friends for much longer. I think before Scott left the next day he was asking me if he should join PASS as well! (Of course I said yes).

And that is what I remember the most: how to an outsider it seemed as if the PASS Summit was the place to be for the week.

And of course…it was.
