thanks. the funniest part of the “once is lucky, twice is good” lesson is that he often told it to me while we were bowling…candlepin bowling, that is. which is quite a regional thing and most people in the world wouldn’t understand. but if you have ever had the chance to bowl candlepin then you would very much understand why he would say that to me, and others, often enough for me to remember.

I also believe in destiny. 1980 was Brooks’ destiny following the events of 1960. There is such a thing as “it was meant to be.” Second, that hockey game brings back incredible memories for all of us. It’s one of those events that are burned into us. I watched the game live, on Canada’s CBC. I didn’t know for years that the game in the U.S. was shown on tape delay.
