PASS Conference

The 2008 PASS summit (www.sqlpass.org) will take place in Seattle this November. Your truly has been given the chance to present a talk at the conference. The title is “Operations Manager 2007 for the DBA”. It is essentially the same talk that I will be giving next Tuesday in NYC and in Waltham at Code Camp 10 on the 21st of September. I hope that I will be more than ready for Seattle. Perhaps I just need some Karaoke to get me ready.

I will never be able to say enough good things about the PASS organization. One of the best decisions I ever made was to join the association, which is followed closely by my decision to volunteer for the association. PASS has given me many opportunities to become not only a better database administrator, but a better person as well.

I encourage everyone to make an effort to attend the conference this November. If you do get the chance to go, drop me a line, especially if you and I have been Tweeting for the past few weeks.

  1. You’re 100% right about PASS. Going was a real eye-opener for me. I was a big fish in a little pond before PASS, and now I’m definitely a small fish in a heck of a big pond. Every DBA can learn a lot from the group.
