This week I will be attending Enterprise Data World in Washington, DC.
I’m excited to have been given the opportunity to present not one but TWO sessions at the premiere data management conference in the world.
On Wednesday, April 1st, I will be presenting a session titled “Designing For Performance or How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love My DBA“. This is a brand new session I’ve created special for #EDW15 in an effort to help bridge the communication gap that often exists between DBAs and data architects. I’m hopeful that after this session we can let the healing begin.
On Thursday, April 2nd, I will be taking part in a debate with Karen López (blog | @datachick) titled “Data Modeling and Design Throwdown“. This is the same debate that Karen and I have done before and I’ve won each time. Just ask anyone who has attended. My undefeated streak includes three countries and all of North America (including Canada). I figured if there is ever a chance to allow Karen a victory I should agree to take part in this debate in front of her home crowd. I’m going to show up dressed as a NULL for this session, don’t worry if you can’t see it.
If you are attending #EDW15 this week I’d love to meet with you and talk about data, databases, and bacon (not necessarily in that order). Let’s connect, share, and learn.
Oh. My.
Yeah.
