Next week I am taking part in a webinar along with Karen Lopez where we will discuss database design tips for SQL Server and Windows Azure SQL Database. This is not the debate format we have done previously, this is meant to be more of a discussion format.
I’ve spent a good chunk of time this year knee-deep in All Things Azure. I presented a pre-conference session on Azure for both TechEd in New Orleans and Madrid. I’m doing a repeat performance in Belgium as part of SQL Server Days, too. I’m all in on the Cloud and I’m doing my best to bring everyone along with me.
When I heard that Karen was presenting at the PASS Summit a session titled “Windows Azure SQL Database Design: Silver Lining and Dark Side” I didn’t hesitate to ask her to take part in this webinar with me for Confio. So, what will we be talking about? I’m glad you asked! Here’s the official abstract:
Data designers and DBAs need to understand the logical, physical, and technical differences in designing and managing Windows Azure SQL Databases (WASDs) and traditional, on-premise SQL Server databases. In this session, we’ll review the concepts that still work in both and the features that need to be tailored to each target environment.
Please join renowned data architect, Karen Lopez and Sr. DBA, Thomas LaRock for this live event. You’ll see demonstrations of the database design processes and gain best practices for model-driven development for each environment, including tool support. We will discuss tips and tricks for creating and maintaining WASD database designs. They’ll finish up with 5 tips for designing and managing performance for both SQL Server and WASD.
Good seats are still available and you can secure yours by registering now to attend.
See you there!
