The recording of my recent webinar for Confio has been made available and you can go here to register to watch (registration required, but it is FREE).
Here is the abstract:
“Great database performance starts with great database design. During the design process it is important to select your SQL Server datatypes wisely. Failure to do so will result in wasted disk space, additional I/O overhead, and decreased performance. There is also the risk that your design will not scale as well as it should. Unless you have unlimited hardware purchasing power, size matters.
Please join Sr. DBA Thomas LaRock (@SQLRockstar) to learn how smart, effective database design will ensure your databases perform at their peak efficiency. You will learn how to choose the best performing datatypes, how to measure their effectiveness, and how to correct bad datatypes decisions (decision that were not, of course, made by you.)”
I had a lot of fun putting this together, maybe too much fun. I think it showed in the recording too, as I unloaded 94 slides in less than an hour, including some quick demos.
I may have had a few cups of coffee that morning.
Anywhere we can get the scripts you used in the webinar. Thanks.
