The conflict I’ve encountered more & more often is that there are so many different solutions available the options are to:
1 – focus in one area and get really good at it while knowing something about the others
2 – spread your knowledge amongst most, if not all, without really mastering any.

Then you run the real risk either pigeon holing yourself into a specialty or becoming the victim of “Jack of all trades, Master of None” syndrome.
