PASS Summit Memories Blog Series – Day 23 – That Little French Bakery

I have been fortunate to have visited a lot of cities in my career. As a result, I have a short list of preferred places to frequent. One of those spots I discovered in 2006 while at the PASS Summit in Seattle and every time I visit Seattle I go back at least once. It is a little French Bakery named Le Panier and you can read more about it here.

Why is this place deserving of it’s own memory in this series of blog posts? Because it is awesome. I enjoy everything about this place. The warm air carrying such wonderful scents of warm bread as you open the door, the crowd of people waiting to order (or waiting for a seat), the closeness of the seats (should you be lucky enough to find one), and the most amazing bread you could ever eat.

I also love it because of the continuity. Humans crave routine. My going there with my closest PASS friends during the early morning hours is a routine. It makes me feel good, a sense of familiarity. And I get to spend time with my friends outside of the conference center, if just for a few minutes. We can talk about our lives since the last time we saw each other, talk about what events are going on during the week, and what our hopes are for the coming months.

That little French bakery has a lot of memories for me at this point.

I can’t wait to see it again.
