OK, the NASA Tweetup for STS-133 is about to get started. The launch was supposed to be today but has been bumped until Wednesday. So we are doing the Tweetup today, will watch the retraction tomorrow night, and do the launch on Wednesday. I am going to change my flights in order to stick around.
We will get started at 1PM and you can follow along if you want at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/nasa-television. I have no idea what they are planning to broadcast but I do expect it to be awesome, especially since I am here to watch and listen in person.
Lots of energy in the tent right now. The woman to my left (@Seila_A) is a science teacher and she just got done with a Skype call back to her classroom. The man to my right (@ChrisGent) is a PR director that has seen over 130 launches in his lifetime including Apollo missions. We only have about 90 of the 150 people expected, many had to cancel their plans once the launch was delayed. I am very, very, very lucky to have the opportunity to be flexible with my schedule.
I’ll write more later, gotta find some water and/or food before everything starts.
