You may or may not have heard already that the deadline for submitting your abstracts to the PASS Community Summit has been extended. Well, it’s true, the deadline has been pushed back. And I know there was some speculation by some members of the community as to why we would want to push the deadline back by two weeks. And I know that PASS provided little to few details as to why the deadline was extended, so it is easy to see how people might want to speculate for themselves as to the reason why.
Well, the reason is simple. Microsoft announced their annual BI conference is not going to be held this year. PASS will be making an official announcement about this at some point in the next few days, but for now you can rest assured that there is no shortage of quantity or quality abstracts already in our possession. By extending the deadline we are going to give those people who wanted to present at the BI conference the chance to submit an abstract for PASS instead. And as fate would provide, this is also the year that we decided to expand the BI track at the Summit, so we expect that there will be plenty of additional abstracts submitted in the next two weeks.
If you haven’t submitted your yet…what are you waiting for?
