I have officially recognized the fact that I am on my PASS high. It always happens after the conference and lasts for a few weeks at the very least. One time it lasted three months before burning off.
What is a PASS high? Quite simply, it is the extra energy you have to help in all things related to PASS. Perhaps you want to get involved with a SIG? Perhaps you met some new friends, increased your network, and want to share some ideas? Perhaps you want to film some short action sequences in which @SQLJackBauer physically abuses a room full of developers? No matter what, you have the extra energy to get started on some projects.
I am enjoying my PASS high right now, working on the @SQLJackBauer scripts. “I NEED YOUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PERMISSIONS FOR THIS CUSTOM DATABASE ROLE! NOW! YOU HAVE TEN SECONDS OR I START BREAKING YOUR FINGERS! ONE! TWO!…”
I didn’t get the PASS high this year. Don’t know if it was because I was already so burnt out or because of the sinus infection. I did get more sleep during the conference this year.
