About a year ago I wanted to promote Brent Ozar (blog | twitter) into the resourcedb but I didn’t because, well, that’s reserved for Paul and Kim. So, despite his brilliant work he was somewhat stuck in the master group simply because I was stuck on what it meant to be a resource versus just an incredible SQL blogger. Well, today that all ends. As many of you already know, Brent has joined forces with Paul (blog | twitter) and Kim (blog | twitter) at SQLSkills.com, which means I can move him right into the resourcedb group without thinking twice. (I almost moved him two weeks ago when I heard the news but managed to wait until his first official day on the job.)
And I’m not done handing out my promotions. Tim Ford and Jeremiah Peschka are also on the move, being promoted into the msdb for the wonderful work they have been doing over the past few months. Tim has maintained a quality despite working on a book and Jeremiah has also managed to keep up his great work despite being tied up with his current obligations on the PASS Board.
Also in the news are those heading in the opposite direction. Linchi Shea is being bumped down to the tempdb at this time.
Congrats to all the newly promoted bloggers. You can pick up your new badges at http://thomaslarock.com/2009/05/updated-rankings-3/
