Community Foodshare Needs Help From #500people

This is not my typical blog post.

I am going to ask you for some help.

I am going to ask for you to help me feed others.

Last year at this time I had an unusual idea. I wanted to entice people to attend a product demo while at the same time raising money for a charity that was local to Boulder, CO (home of Confio Software world headquarters). When the demo was complete we had raised over $1,000 USD which was then given to Community Foodshare. That money helped to purchase approximately 4,000 meals, many of which were purchased close to Thanksgiving and Christmas.

This year I’ve decided to set a higher goal for this event. And I’ll need your help to get there.

I want to raise $5,000 USD, which will be used to purchase upwards of 20,000 meals during the upcoming holidays. Confio Software will donate $10 USD for each person that registers and attends our product demo this Wednesday, November 14th at Noon ET. That means if 500 people attend we will reach that $5,000 USD goal.

Here’s how easy it is for you to help me feed others at the time of the year when they need it most:

  1. Register for the demo
  2. Use the hashtag #500people on Twitter to help promote the demo
  3. Attend the demo this Wednesday, November 14th at Noon ET

Thanks, and I look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday.
