Came across this video today and I wanted to share it here.
Not sure about you but this video is painfully familiar to me. End users always want more data. They often have no idea what they are looking for. Many are just hoping to come across some nugget of gold in a huge pile of sand. So they ask for ALL the data they can get in the hopes that they will strike it rich.
You can bet that the moment they have to wait longer then a minute to pull a terabyte of data from the other side of the world into Excel on their desktop they will email their manager and cc you and talk about the “database problem” that you need to fix right away.
