Here We Go (Again)

I am sitting on DL1099 from BDL to MCO, winging my way to FLA for one reason: to watch humans be propelled into outer space.

It’s hard to describe all the positive emotions I am feeling as I write this. Last night, as I kissed my children goodnight, they asked if they could come with me. I tried to explain that we only had the one ticket, and even if I wanted to give it to them they would not be able to use it. That this event was *so special*, only I was allowed to attend. I don’t think they understand it yet, but know they will one day.

Today is going to be very similar to what I did last November for the STS-133 NASA Tweetup. We will meet at the tent for a bit then head out on a tour. After the tour we are going to be able to see the RSS retraction tonight at about 7PM. You should be able to follow everything on NASA TV.

And then, tomorrow, the launch. Yes, I *am* giddy. I’ve been wanting to see this for over 30 years.

And it is finally happening.
