Our Ears Do Work!

Yesterday at the “meet and greet” for the PASS Board of Directors we were asked to make all future votes public. Today during the board meeting we discussed that very topic. And just now we voted unanimously to make all future votes public! We actually *can* hear you when you speak to us. Honestly, to have something like this taken care of in less than 24 hours is nothing short of amazing considering most of our work is done through emails and phones calls and decisions such as this take a little bit longer.

We met, had a healthy debate, shared our concerns, and then did the right thing.

Now, just to make sure we are all clear on this, there is something you should know. Every now and then we do have some NDA discussions. Those NDA discussions are not revealed in our public minutes (otherwise it wouldn’t be much of an NDA now, right?) So, if a vote is ever tied to something that is NDA, you won’t see how we voted (again, otherwise it’s not much of an NDA).

And there are some things that will have an NDA that expires (think product launch dates), which means that votes tied to that NDA will be private at the time but can be made public at the time the NDA expires.

Two giant leaps forward for the PASS Community. I was here to be a part of it.

Double rainbow.

    • Eric,

That’s a good suggestion, but if the material is NDA then all votes regarding that material must remain NDA, otherwise it isn’t much of an NDA.

    • Huh? didn’t i say it was unanimous? Anyway, the vote is going to be published publicly with the minutes from the meeting, which should be posted soon (hey, let us finish our meeting first!)
