Are You Lonely?

Working from home can be a lonely experience for many. Despite the interruptions that can plague me throughout the course of my day, I know that I am lucky to have other people around me. Still, I need to feel as if I am making progress on my work. So, what choices do I have?

I can schedule a meeting! I can have a meeting with my colleagues in Boulder, but they won’t get to see me point with a stick. So, I am going to start scheduling meetings with my family instead. We can eat donuts, look at some charts that show our playtime trends, and I get to feel important again. Win-win, I say.

    • kevin, just go outside and grab a stick, any stick is fine. or use a wooden spoon.

steve, you’re welcome. i came across the picture on the intertubz earlier this week, thought it was perfect for a Friday post.

todd, i have also headed into a business to do some work, tried Panera a few times. it helps to break things up a bit.

  1. When I work from “home” I sometimes still go into an office, except its not mine. I go to my friends office, Dunkin Donuts, Waffle House, etc. Word of caution, conference calls at the gun range do not work well.
